The Treble Training Choir rehearses for an hour every week. Boys are then
given a separate one hour session which includes learning basic theory and
vocal methods. Choristers must spend a minimum of one term with the Training
Choir before advancing to the Concert Choir, although most boys spend one
full year (three terms).
The Treble Concert Choir is a group of 25 young boys between the ages of 9
and 14 with unchanged voices. They rehearse once a week for two hours and
perform quite regularly. Choristers remain in this choir until their voice
has changed, after which they are allowed to advance to the Tenor/Bass
Ensemble.
The Tenor/Bass Ensemble is a group of about 45 young men between the ages of
13 and 24. Trebles whose voices change have immediate access to the
Tenor/Bass Ensemble (TBs). This choir generally performs more challenging
choral literature, including pieces written primarily for men's chorus.
Senior members of this group also perform with the Amabile Chamber Choir, an
SATB Ensemble in which they join with senior members from their sister
choir, the Amabile Youth Singers. The most senior members perform in Amabile
Primus, a small ensemble formed in the Fall of 2000.
The Amabiles Trebble Choir wears a uniform of white shirts, ties, black sleevless sweaters ang grey slacks.
