We note a photograph taken during the Memorial Day at the Punchbowl, Pearl Harbor Memorial
(May 28, 2005). The Honolulu Boys Choir is performing with the Walls of the Missing in the background. The American Battle Monument Commission (ABMC) was established by Congress in 1923 "to honor the accomplishments of the American Armed Forces where they have served". The Honolulu Memorial is the only ABMC cemetery and memorial located on American soil. The "Punchbowl", as it is affectionately nicknamed, is the official cemetery and memorial site of the missing for those who died in the Central Pacific during World War II. Japanese carrier aircraft passed over it as they strucvk the Pacific Fleet launching the War. Thev boys wear bright Haiwanian shirts with ;ays and long white pants. They have bare feet to add a touch of Hawaian informality.
