Bohr's four surviving sons left him with quite a number of grandchildren in which he deligted. I'm not sure precisely how many, but there were at least nine. AQuite a number of photographs show him playing with his many grandchildren. The family portait here shows Bohr and Margrethe with nine of the grand children on the occassion of his 70th birthday in 1955. The children wear a variety of outfits. One boy at the front wears short pants and kneesocks. The boy to his right looks to be wearing knickers. The boy at the left wears rompers. Two boys in the back appear to be wearing pne-piece outfits.
