Harold Howes: Dress (United States, 1903)


Figure 1.-- The first portrait show Harold at about 3 years of age wearing a dress with sailor styling. It is a patterned dress with button decorations and a pleated skirt. It has a belt for a waist element. This was also used in tunic suits which Harold also wore. We are not sure when he was breeched, presumably in 1904. He has ringlet curls which were not cut even after he was breeched.
