Figure 1.-- This is Folorence's elest boy, Norman Victor Cedric Hazell, known as Cedric or Eddie. He was born April 19, 1920 at Middle Barton, Oxfordshire. He wears a tunic suit with short trousers. Notice the Dutch boy haircut with bangs. I'm not sure how the British would have described this hair cut at the time.

Florence Victoria Mason (England, 19??- )

Florence Victoria Mason was the mother of HBC reader Keith Hazel. Florence was the sister of Harold Victor Mason. Keith's brother was Norman Victor Cedric Hazell, known as Cedric or Eddie. He was born April 19, 1920 at Middle Barton, Oxfordshire. He was killed in active service during World War II. as an RAOC Sergeant in Burma (May 2, 1942). At the time, after the fall of Singapore the Japanese offensive was driving the British out of Burma. This was less than 2 years after his marriage. He has no known grave, but is recorded on the Rangoon War Memorial. Florence was related to the Capper family. The relationship of the Masons to the Hardcastles is very distant and they are cousins of cousins. A HBC reader has provided us some images from her photograph album in the 1870s. The album belonged to Mary Ella Capper.
