Danish Family: The Hansens (Denmark, 1909)


Figure 1.--We see the Hansen family in 1909. This large family lived in southern Denmark, probably in the village of Burkal. We count 13 children. Presumably this was a a farm family Interestingly the family Bible is prominantly displayed in a place of honor. The younger boys wear fancy blouses and knee pants.

Presumably this was a a farm family Interestingly the family Bible is prominantly displayed in a place of honor. The younger boys wear fancy blouses and knee pants. Note the bavy is wearing striped stockings, We do not commonly see striped stockkings after the mid-1880s.
