Photo Pages: Lockers

Figure 1.--.

A study needs to be done of lockers at school. They are wonderful extensions of the students' personalities. Some are neat and tidy. Some are simply with the detritus of the school year. Others have clippings and photographs.

Lockers

All students can be issued with a locker at the beginning of the year for storing books. For a small bond you can get one which is lockable. Valuable things e. g. money or jewellery can be left in a named envelope at the school office. Bulky sports equipment such as hockey sticks or tennis racquets can be put in a drum at the office BUT it is also a good idea to name your belongings.

My First Locker

My very first locker
Finally a place for my priceless treasures
Bit complicated the combination though
Praticed at home
Think I got it

The first day was rather a blur
Changing classes still a bit new
Finding them is a challenge
My new school seems so big
Not much time to get your books and move

I need my maths book Everyone else is opening their locker
Turn to the left past 0
Was that last number 12 or 21?
How many times past 0
Drat!

Try again
I'm sure it was 21
Twice past zero
Drat! Drat!
Slam! Slam! Slam!

Try try again
The sound reverbeated down the halls
Everyone else is slamming their lockers closed
Slam! Slam! Slam!
Maybe that last nunber was 12 afterall
I'm sure it was twice past 0
Drat! Drat! Drat!

Try try try again
I hope my new teacher will understand.

Robert, Form 3
