British Preparatory Schools E-Books: Frequently Asked Countries

Figure 1.--These boys attended a day school and are headed home in the afternoon after a full day of school.

The concept of an E-Book is still fairly new. Many of you have asked questions about the mechanics of the book and how it is set up. Note that substantive questions about preparatory schools and British education are dealt with in the previous section "Questions" above. Here in this section we are talking about the mechanics of an E-Book. Check here for some of the most frequantly asked questions as your question may have already been asked and answered. If not, feel free to use the e-Mail link to ask us. We may eventually add your question here. There is also some information about our future plans for our E-book series.

Viewing

How often can I view the e-Books?

Purchasing one of our e-Books is just like adding a book to your library. You can view it as often as you want to and when ever you want to have a look. And you can do it from any computer.

Pass Codes

What if I lose the pass codes?

Very simple, just send us an e-Mail. We have recorded your e_Mail address with your payment information. Thus we will e-Mail you back with the pass codes. Remember if your e-Mail address changes, let us know. Unless we have a record of your e-Mail we can not ssend you the pass codes if you lose them.

Will the pass codes change?

Rarely. We may have to chasnge them once in a while. If so we will notify you using the new page alert masiling list.

Unloaded Images

What about all the unloaded images?

Remember, our e-Books are a work in progress. It is not yet finished. We are still working on it. We thought you might like to see the book as it develops. Where ever an image box is placed means that we plan to put a new image. So be patient. At least one new page is added every week. And we often add text material and images to existing pages--often quite a bit of new written material and several images. If you find a box with a caption without an image, please let us know. It means that we have made a mistake in the codeing.

New Pages

How can I find out about new pages?

E-Book subscribers, however, are entitled to a complimentary notification service. We will automatically alert you when new pages are added or major additions are made to existing pages. Just let us know by e-mail that you are interested in this service. We won't bother you with every page with a new poem or image added, but we will alert you to major changes.

Future Editions

Will there be any future editions?

Yes there will be. Actually we are approaching the initial goal of 150 pages for the first volume of our New Zealand Schools and British Prepsaratory Schools (Volume I. We still have not, however, loaded all the planned images. We have begun work on Volume II of the British book. There may eventually be other additions. You may want to have a look at the Organization page. Not only will there be additional editions on New Zealand and British schools, but we plan to put out future E-Books on Australian and Scottish schools.

Written Pieces

The children's poems are rather interesting, but why do you include all the dry little pieces about school rules and procedures?

Indeed. We find the children's poems and other written pieces rather charming. They are designed to reflect what the children in the photographs are actually thinking about their school experience. But of course that is only part of the school experience. The idea of our book is to provide a realistic view of the school experience. Thus the little notes aboyt library fines, bike regulations, locker rules, and the multitude of other school regulatioins provide a much needed input to fully appreciate the school experience.
