boys clothing: royalty -- Japan modern monarchy Hirohito children
Emperor Hirohito as suggested by the photograph here was a devoted family man. The Emperor and Her Imperial Majesty the Empress had six
children, two boys and four girls. The Crown Prince Akahito was born in 1933. Emperor Akihito acceded the throne on January 7, 1989, upon the death of his father, the Emperor Hirohito (posthumously Emperor Showa). Akihito was born in Tokyo on December 23, 1933. Emperor Akihito is the eldest son of Eperor Hirohito and Her Imperial Majesty the Empress Dowager Nagako. He was born Akihito Tsugonimaya in Tokyo. His Imperial Highness the Prince Hitachi graduated from Gakushuin University in 1958 and since then has devoted himself to the study of biology, like his father. He married Miss Hanako Tsugaru, daughter of late Mr. Yoshitaka Tsugaru, former count, in September 1964. The Hitachi couple visits many parts of the country to take part in various ceremonies related to national activities in the fields of culture, education, sports, and social welfare. Emperor Hirohito had four daughters, all of whom married. They are the late Mrs. Morihito Higashikuni (former Princess Teru), the late Mrs. Toshimichi Takatsukasa (former Princess Taka), Mrs. Takamasa Ikeda (former Princess Yori), and Mrs. Hisanaga Shimazu (former Princess Suga).

I have no information on his childhood or what he wore as a boy. Prince Akihito here is dressed in a white sailor blouse with striped
collar and cuffs with a tie, dark short pants, long white stockings, black
strap sandals, and a white sailor hat. Akihito graduated from Gakushuin Upper Secondary School in 1952. He studied at the Department of Politics in the Faculty of Politics and Economics of Gakushuin University until 1956. In addition, he received private lectures on a number of subjects by eminent professionals, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. In 1952 he was officially proclaimed heir to the throne. In 1953, His Majesty the Emperor (then His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince Akihito) made a 6-month tour of 14 countries in North America and Western Europe. The
tour centred on his visit to London as Emperor Showa's representative at the coronation of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II of the Great Britain. Akihito married a commoner, Michiko Shoda, in 1959. Crown
Prince Akihito, acceded to the throne on January 8, 1989, at the age of 56.
Prince Hitachi (Yoshi) here wears
a short-sleeved suit with button-on short pants, white ankle socks and black
strap sandals. Interestingly, while the princesses are dressed alike, Prince Hitachi is not dressed like his older brother. (As boys Prince Hirohito and his younger brother were dressed alike.) also undertaken a number of goodwill tours abroad.

I do not think family images like this were published in Japan before the americaN occupation, although I have not actual information on this yet. . The Emperor wascregarded as divine and the common people were ot suposed to even look upon him.
