We have only limited information on the school system at this time. We do have information on a private school, the Windhoek Gymnasium. This is a private school in Windhoek. The school has a Christian foundation, but it accepts pupils of all religions. The school follows the Namibian National Curriculum. At primary level, pupils have a choice to be taught in English or Afrikaans. The children wear the summer uniform in the photograph here (figure 1). The school rules say: "Charcoal grey shorts, to fit just above the knee. Red short-sleeve golf shirt with school crest. Shoes are optional, bare-feet are allowed".
