Skolen Primary School (1945)

Figure 1.--This is the first year class at the the skolen school. We are not sure what "skolen" means. The photograph was taken in October 1945. You can see that the leaves hasve mostly fallen off thetrees. It does not seem real cold, but most of the boys wear sweaters or jackets. Some wear short pants with long stockings. Others seem to be wearing knickers, but they may be long pants. There are three girls. Two wearing dresses. The third seems to be wearing a bib-front long pants play suit.

This is the first year class at the the skolen school. We are not sure what "skolen means. The photograph was taken in October 1945. You can see that the leaves have mostly fallen off the trees. It looks like a small rural school. It does not seem real cold, but most of the boys wear sweaters or jackets. Some wear short pants with long stockings. They are light-colored stockings, probably beige. Others seem to be wearing knickers, but they may be long pants. There are three girls. Two wear dresses. The third seems to be wearing a bib-front long pants play suit.
