Tights: Boy Style


Figure 1.--HBC first observes boy-styled tights around 1970, but they may appeared earlier. This is a German ad from 1970.

HBC has noted boy styled tughts as early as 1970. These are tights with a fly or zipper front. They may have appeared earlier. HBC can not at this time establish the exact date. They seemed to have first appeared and been particularly common in Germany. HBC is unsure what type of tights that boys wore most commonly. Presumably this style was popular with boys. Often boys, especially younger boys, do not like clothes thaey have to fusss woth. You would think that the boy styled tights would have been much more popular with boys.
