Boys by the 1970s were no longer commonly wearing short pants suits, although some were worn as school uniform. They were, however, occasionally seen in fashion magazines. This image appeared about 1998 in a fashion magazine, but I am not sire which one. Eiropean boys were no longer wearing suits like this, but they were being worn in Japan. The HBC contributor who supplied this image reports that it was most likely British or Australian fashion magazine or clothing catalog. Another series that had been posted was from the French Vogue Bambini (sp), and this might be the case as well. He found it on a newsgroup some time ago. Although advertised, I think it would be safe to assume that it is like the Paris fashion shows: designers trying to think of coming trends, and not what boys will be (wearing) or would wear. It would be difficult enough to get a boy into the short pants outfit, let alone the tan knee socks or
ascot!
