Fauntleroy Garments: Short Pants

Short pants have also been worn with Fauntleroy suits, but not normally the classic suits worn before the turn of the 20th century. We have never noted American boys wearing classic Fauntleroy suits with short pants. We have noted a few European boys doing so, although the outfits are noted are usually not classic Fauntleroy suits--but rather a variety of suits with some Fauntleroy styling. We do not have enough images yet to assess what type of hosiery is worn with these short pants soutfits. After World War I, younger boys did more commonly wear Fauntleroy type suits with short pants. We have noted them into the 1920s and early 30s.
