Boys' Suit Jackets: Unknown Styles

Figure 1.--This young American boy in the late 19th century wears an Eton collar and bow. The suit has some characteristics of a Norfolk suit, but appears to be made out of a black har finished material with elaborate military flap pockets and detailing. I'm unsure how to classify it.

HBC has encountered some suit styles that it can not yet identify. Most are 19th century styles. Often the collars or neckwear are known, but not the jacket styles. Do let HBC know if you know anuthing about these suit styles--even if only what they are called.

The suit has some characteristics of a Norfolk suit, but appears to be made out of a black har finished material with elaborate military flap pockets and detailing. I'm usure how to classify it. It looks something like the black jackets worn with kilts.
