Richard Lyon was born in London (1934). He was the adopted son of Ben Lyon and Bebe Daniels, silnt film actors, Daniels of some promiance. Both were Americans, but did not make the transition to the talkies. Instead they established a new career in Britain, sage, radio, and eventually television. They adopted Richard while in Britain. And when Britain was plunchd into War, both they and their children, Richard and older sister Barabara spent the War in Britain. Ben served in the U.S. Army Air Force and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel in charge of Special Services for the U.S. Air Corps which had a masive presence in Britin. Soldiers, sailors and airmen (from 1939) listened to Ben and Bebe weekly on the air waves with their popular, long-running BBC broadcast "Hi, Gang!" Richard became a child film star. He is best known for his roles in 'Anna and the King of Siam' (1946), 'The Tender Years' (1948) and 'The Great Lover' He also played several adolescent/teen roles in film and then transitioned to his family TV program. The Lyon family bcame Britain's radio and TV's version of Ozzie & Harriet Nelson & family. The program began on radio as 'Life with the Lyons" and then continud on TV (1955). It ran on TV for five seasons (1955-60). After this acting career, Richard became an established photographer.
