The Association

France have a number of small Scout associations that do not belong to the main stream national association. One of these is the small French Catholic Scout group--the Scouts Godefroy de Bouillon. These Scouts are organization like the Riaumont. They are very small association, about 300 members. They belong to the traditional Catholic movement which defends the mass in Latin and a Catholic traditiional worship between the reforms of Vatican II.

Uniform

The picture of the Scouts in the military gear is not characteristic of the Scouts Godefroy de Bouillon. The boys wear the military gear as a casual uniform. This military-style clothing is sometimes worn by older Scouts in the traditional movements scouts. In the picture one of the boys chose to carry a service cap, the two others have their usual Scout berets worn by the Scouts Godefroy de Bouillon as well mas many other French Scouts.

The official uniform was a dark blue beret, tan shirt, kerchief, dark blue short pants, and white or dark blue kneesocks. I believe the short pants are corduroy, but I am not positive about this. Some of the older boys might wear military styled clothes. The boys would often wear their berets at a jaunty angle.
