Boarding schools have a variety of rules about the school uniform. Most boarding schools require the students to wear the uniform all the time while at school. At most schools their is a relatively casual uniform. At most schools the boys wear shirts and short trousers. Seasonal trends are similar to those at day schools. Kneesocks and sweaters are common in cool weather. Sandals without socks are common when the weather bercomes warmer. Ties are worn a some schools during classes. Rules vary from school to school after classes. Some allow the students to wear casual clothes. Some require the boys to wear the the same uniform even in their free time after classes. At some schools the boys dress up with ties and jackets or blazers for the evening meal. Some schools evem allow mufti to be worn in the evening or during the weekend, but this varies from school to school.
