Sports Day is an annual event normally held in June near the end of the school year. This is normally done as althetic (track and field) organized as house competitions. The children are always keen to attempt to break school records. It is a festive occassion for the children as the parents are invited to cheer the children on and they spend the day together. Other events and exhibitions are often staged to show case school achievements. In addition to the children's athletic events, some fun events are stged with the parents.
Sports Day was held on Saturday 16th June. We all carried the chairs down for the parents to sit on. The first race was the 100 metres. The gun was very loud and people were yelling for their house. After all the running there was a high jump, the long jump and throwing the cricket ball. Then came the relays. Brendons won the competition. Then Mrs Wedderkopp gave out all the cups. The Victor Ludorum was awarded to Ben Wedderkopp and the Victrix Ludorum was awarded to Charlotte Warren. 5 Star AAA awards were won .... We raced back to school and lined up for the PSA barbecue, which was lovely.
