Class Forms: Form IV

Figure 1.--.

Ten Solitary Minutes

As we entered the dark and gloomy hall I had a horrible sensation, a sort of tingling in my fingers. It was time for our most difficult exam. I was bewildered by the silence. As we sat down my hand began to quiver. Sam who was sitting beside me felt the same. Then the papers were put in front of us. The waiting was over and the pressure was on.

James Goodley, 10 years, 6 months, Surge (Beeston Hall), Autumn 1988.

The Storm

The waves were crashing to and fro, The wind was whistling high and low, The boats were swaying back and forth, The wind was howling from the north.

The people were warm in front of a fire Where flames were blazing higher and higher, The house was warm with very strong walls As the wind howls and rain falls.

Andrew Denham-Davis, 10.10, Beaudesert Park Magazine, Autumn 1978.
