Seasons/Terms: Autumn Term

Most new children arrive in the Fall Term. Rugby dominates the sports program. Schools in the Fall Term. The annual ritual of conker fights occur in the Fall. The high point of the Fall Term is Guy Fawkes Day and Bonfire Night. The sacrifice of the two great World wars is honored on Remberance Day. Red poppies are everywhere. Then attention shifts to Christmas. The children's writing often focus on seasonal changes. In Autumn the children love to write about the leaves.

Autumn

In the Autumn the leaves fall from trees. The leaves go gold, brown, yellow, orange and red. The squirrels get nuts for the winter and the squirrels, hedgehogs, badgers, moles. fiekd mice and shrews hibernate. The birds fly to warmer countries. In the winter the evergreen tree leaves stay green all year round. In the woods there are conkers. All the rats get in the haystacks. The frost gets on the car windows. The fog and the mist get on the roads so you can not see so well. You put lots of clothes on to keep warm. The farmer keeps his cattle closer to the farm. The games you play are rugger, netball and rugger. It gets darker and colder in the evening. You have to put the hater on and keep the doors shut.

And autumn's just begun
