Norwegian Royalty: Prince Harald -- Boyhood Clothing

Prince Harald
Figure 1.--Here we see Prince Harald in a sailor suit in 1944. He and his family except their father at the time had taken refuge in Ametica after the NAZIs invaded and occupied Norway (1940). The sailor suit and characteristic cap was the Norwegian navalnuniform.

We do not have a lot of information about how Prince Harald was dressed as a boy. We do have some images. We notice Harald st about 3 years old safely in America after escaping the NAZIs (1940). He has curls and ears a frillyblouse with short pants. While in America during the War we notice him wearing short pants suits which he also wore after returning to Norwy. The suits look rather British. We see him with both ankle socks and knee socks. The photographs with ankle socks were probably taken in America. we also see him wearing sailor suits and army uniforms both in America and fter returning to Morway after the War. The sailor suit would have been a Norwegaian naval uniform, not a boy's sailor suit.
