Lancastershire Cub Outings

Figure 1.--

An English Scouter tells us about the outings he planned for his Cubs.

I took my cub pack on outings to Liverpool museums. We once toured the local cinema and looked in at the projector room. I took them on a day trip by train to London.

I also took them to the seaside. We went to a place called Blackpool. It is famous for its illuminations coloured lights that make pictures and are very beautiful. We went by coach. This was a tour company who ran a special coach to Blackpool and the lights. I booked my guys on it. We went and had a fantastic day. The cubs played on the beach then we went to the amusement park. More fun here. At least for the cubs. They went on the rides while I looked after their personal belongings. I watched the fun theyt were having. At various points throughout the day I did a check to make sure everyone was present. Always the same number not a cub more than I shopuld have had or for that matter less than I should have. Towards the end of the afternoon just as dusk was coming we gathered to leave for a cafe and a fish and chip tea. I did the head count and everyone was present. Off we set for the restaurant. We got a bit spread out so I did another head count. To my horror there was a chap missing. A role call quickly established who the missing cub was. We retraced the route hoping to find the missing cub. We found him still at the last amusement activity. He was watching the rides and had not realised we had left. So the pack of cubs restored to its original number we set off for the fish and chip supper and afterwards the illuminations. What a day!
