This boy wears a casic Alpine outfit. We are not sure when this style was first worn. This image shows that these jackets were being worn at the turn of the 2th century. We do not know who this boy is, but the portrait was taken in Vienna. We believe that it was taken in the 1900s. He wears a hatwith some Alpine styling. It is a little different than the standard Alpine cap, looking rather like an adult hat. He wears a jacket with some classic Alpine styling elements, such a a colored collar or lapel--probably green. Notice the lapels that button bavk, but are not opened. There are shoulder epaulets and cuffs colored the same as the lapels. Note the line of color at the shoulder connection with the jacket sleve. The jacket has souble breasted styling. He also wears long leather lederhosen and kneesocks. The lederhosen have ornamental buttons like kneepants. The kneesocks are pareerned.
