New Zealand secondary schools offer courses that the beginning student only interesting in dabbling as a hobby will find helpful to courses that will provide a fine foundation for those gifted students interested in pursung a career in art.

Courses

Here are some of the courses that a New Zealnd secondary school might offer in art. The basic courses will be offered at virtually any school. The more specialized courses will vary greatly from school to school. There will be extensive courses on drawing and then a diversity of courses such as print making, painting, and sculpture. Most schools also offer photography within the art curiculum.

All but the smallest schoolsd hsve art rooms. The larger schools normaslly have specislized rooms with equipments like kilns and potting wheels. The art rooms of course at most schools are the most destinctively decorated of all the classrooms. They are full of fascinating images of the students' work. A wide range of work is normally displayed. Of course this varies depending on the ae level of the students. The teachers interests and approach is another factor.
