Art 61: Drawing

Entry Requirements: School Certificate Art or at discretion of teacher Cost: $5.00

Students must provide: Bulk art pack

Purpose: To provide a sound base of' drawing skills in a variety of media that will provide research. resource gathering and development of ideas for further units of' learning.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

Content: Artist's study. Art camp. Field trip. Study of composition, tone, texture, colour, form.

Award: CSC Certificate or towards SFC


Art 62: Painting

Entry Requirements: Art 61

Cost: $5.00

Purpose: To develop the skills of painting and make students aware of conventions in art making.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

  • Show some knowledge of a range of painting techniques.
  • Regeneration of ideas through painting and drawing.

    Content: Artist's study, stretching of paper and canvas. Priming of boards. Using oils and acrylics. Mixed media approach using paint and drawing media, pastels, chalks, pen.

    Art 63: Printmaking

    Entry Requirements: ART61, ART62

    Cost: $5.00

    Purpose: To introduce students to the practice of printmaking.

    Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

    Content: Study of 3 printmaking techniques. Looking at examples of other printmakers' work. Viewing of contemporary exhibitions. Field trip.

    Award: CSC Certificate or towards SFC


    Art 64.1: Extension of Painting and Printing

    Entry Requirements: Art 61 and either Art 62 or 63

    Cost: $5.00

    Purpose: A module for self-exploration of individual area of interest. Students must present plan for this module and presentation of fmal work for final assessment.

    Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

    Content: Individual research. Initiation and regeneration of ideas. Competence in technical processes . Presentation of final work.

    Award: CSC Certificate or towards SFC


    Art 64.2: Sculpture

    Entry Requirements: Art 61

    Cost: $5.00

    Purpose: To expose students to various sculpture materials and processes in creating a 3D sculpture.

    Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

    Content: Student plan. Chosen processes and techniques defined. Practical use of materials. Presentation of final work.
