Figure 1.-- The colored trim was normally coordinated with the school necktie and the blazer and was commonly repeated on colored bands on the kneesocks. . The trim picked up one or two collars of the necktie. The colored trim sweaters were most common att schools which required neckties.  

The colored trim was normally coordinated with the school necktie and the blazer and was commonly repeated on colored bands on the kneesocks. . The trim picked up one or two collars of the necktie. The colored trim sweaters were most common att schools which required neckties. The neckties and blazers were commonly done in same bright colors which contrasted to the basic grey of the sweaters. Earlier it was also commony coordinated with the cap, but caps by the 1980s were becoming less common..
