A HBC reader has provided us a basic pattern drawin of smocks (Shuerze) advertized in Breslauer Hausfrau magazine. He says, "From the front side they looked like the pinafores that the boys pictured here (figure 1) are wearing, but back sides were diffrent--depending on the type of buttoning (Drawing 1)." They were usually made in sizes for boys 1-5 years old. [Jankowski]
