Canadian Boy Choir Costumes: Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval--Secular Uniform

Figure 1.--This Canadian chorister from Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval shows the uniform worn in secular concerts.

The boys in the 1980s wore a costume of blue sweaters, light blue shirts worn open without ties, blue short pants, white kneesocks, and black leather shoes. The sweaters or od synthetic fiber and have the choir crest. The uniform is navy blue. The short pants are out of extensible nylon. The shorts always keep their color in spite of repeated washings. The shorts which are an extensible knitting in the two directions (tight weave) are very comfortable and are very difficult to soil. The white kneesocks are reversibles. It is easier for the choristers to keep them clean before a concert.
