Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval: Choir Costumes--Religious Ceremonies

Figure 1.--This chorister from Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval wears the Choir's costume for religious ceremonies--a white cassock. This is the same costume many French choirs wear.

The white cassock, especially among French-speaking people, is the vestment of religious offices. In Quebec the tradition is the same one as in Belgium and France. These cassocks worn by different choirs are quite similar. The crosses they wear, however, can vary. Different choirs have adopted a variety of crosses or other symbols. The wooden cross is the same that a famous French boys' choir wears.
