Figure 1.--Here the boys are in their school uniforms 1970s checking out where their coming trip is taking them.

The choristers also perform in their school uniform consisting of a a white shirt, a blue sweater, and matching blue short pants, white knee socks, and black shoes. The boys also wore blue berets. This was a uniform adopted by several Catholic colleges until the 1970s. (A French college was arivate school with both primary and secondary sections.) They included both day and boarding schools. I'm not sure when the beret was was dropped, probably the 1960s. The boys wear this costume when performing the secular music at their performances. It continues to be theior school uniform. The boya also travel in this uniform. All the boys in the choir, regardless of their age wear this uniform.

Chronology

The original PCCB uniform was based on the French Cun Scout uniform. Mbee Malieret changed the uniform in 1943 during World War II (1943). The new uniform was based on a school uniform style that some Catholic schools were adopting at the time. The uniform was subsequently adopted by many Catholic schools and after the War by many new boy choirs founded in France. The Choir still wears the uniform adopted in 1943 with only minor changes. The uniform of PCCB has remained the same model, except the length of their shorts which change in accordance with popular fashion. The shorts were short in the 1950s-80s but begn to be longer in the 90s.

PCCB Appearances and Tours

The boys in addition to their school clothes had one perfect outfit for their concert appearances for the concerts and another one for the rest of time. For their official journeys they always wear their uniform. The boys since 1980 have begun wearing popular casual styles of street clothes during their free time when touring the sites of the various cities that they visit. they all wear a standard outfit , witch includes jeans.

Garments

The current PCCB uniform was adopted in 1943 during World War II. The uniform included several different garments, most of which have remained unchanged for many years. One of the few changes is that the beret has been dropped. The length oid the short pants has also changed over time.
