John Faulkes (United States, 1870s)

Here we see a CDV portrait of John Faulkes, son of Silas Faulkes. He looks to be about 5 years old. He lived in Richmond, Indiana. John wears a button-on knee pants suit. Notice the waistband which hides tthe buttons. There is scalloped detailing. He has a mall now. Notice the angeled styling. We notice both tunics and junior suits done like this. That was characteristic of the 1870s. Also notice the rounded crown hat with a narrow brim. The CDV is undated, but the CDV format and the suit styling strongly suggest the 1870s. The CDV format and the white stockigs suggest the early 70d to us, but this is still a preliminary assessment. The white stockings suggests the 1860s or early-70s. The studio in Richmond was G.W. Stigleman.
