Percy boys Funtleroy suits
Figure 1.--This cabinet card is undated, but would have been taken in the 1890s, clearly identified by the women's dress style--especially the large balloon sleeves. We see two boys and two women, all identified. They are Mrs. Minnie Percy, Rufus Percy, and Cleveland Percy. Along with the Percys is Gertrude More Allen (Mrs. Ben Allen), presumably an aunt, and a snoozing pooch. The boys look to be about 3-8 years old. Both are done up in Fauntleroy outfits. There is a major difference in there outfits. The younger boy wears the small classic cut-away jacket. The older boy wears a regular suit jacket.

Percy Boys (United States, 1890s)

This cabinet card is undated, but would have been taken in the 1890s, clearly identified by the women's dress style--especially the large balloon sleeves. Many jackets were worn as part of Fauntleroy suits. The classic Fauntleroy was the cit-away jacket. It wsas wirn by the younger boys. Many older boys wore Fauntleoy suits, but various oher jackets, but usually not the classic cut-away jackets. There is a major difference in the outfits the Percy boys are wearing. The younger boy wears the small classic cut-away jacket. The older boy wears a regular suit jacket. Otherwise the outfits are identical, complete with fancy Fauntleroy blouses, Both boys have long hsir, but not very well done in ringlet curls. The studio was the Swanton Photo Co., we believe in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
