Figure 1.-- This portrait was done at the Westhall Studio by H. E. Loveland. An inscription reads, "A Merry Christmas Francis Ring, Dec. 24th 1920." Thus we know who the boy is and when his portrait was taken. Francis looks about 3-4 yeats old. We are not sure how to describe his outfit, possibly an Oliver Twist suit. The photo is a 5" x 7" ptint. The paper fram has the mock ragged, heirloom look. This is a particularly severe ragged frame edge. Click on the image for more informatuin about the frame.

This portrait was done at the Westhall Studio by H. E. Loveland. We do not know where the studio was located. An inscription reads, "A Merry Christmas Francis Ring, Dec. 24th 1920." Thus we know who the boy is and when his portrait was taken. Francis looks about 3-4 yeats old. We are not sure how to describe his outfit, possibly an Oliver Twist suit. It looks like their may be a tunic with a matching jacket and short pants. Perhaps a HBC reader will know better how to desribe the outfit. It was a colored suit, but we are unsure about the color. There are white collars and cuffs. He had white long stockings and white high-top shoes. His hair is done in bangs that are shaped rather than cut straight across the forehead. The photo is a 5" x 7" ptint. The paper fram has the mock ragged, heirloom look. This is a particularly severe ragged frame edge.
