Danish Family: The Sørensens (Denmark, 1913-14)

Figure 1.--Here we have a portrait of the Sørensen family taken about 1913-14. In the center of the front row are the two parents, Soren Christian and Maren Sørenson. The others are their ten children.

Here we have a portrait of the Sørensen family taken about 1913-14. In the center of the front row are the two parents, Soren Christian and Maren Sørenson. The father looks to be a clergyman. The others are their ten children. The younger boys wear sailor middy blouses with knee pants and long stockings. The two youngest children are boys, born in 1906 and 1907, and sit at either end of the front row. The source doesn't give the names of the children. The two boys--aged about 8 and 9, wear white sailor middy blouses and matching ties. They also wear knee pants (notice the ornamental buttons at the hem), long black stockings, and high top shoes. The photo seems to have been taken in a garden. Notice the foliage that forms the background. It seems to be summer time since the boys wear no jackets.
