Danish Family (Ranum, 1900s)

Figure 1.--Here we seetwo brothers dresses in identical blouses and above the knee knickers with unusual bows. Their sister wears a plaid dress. All the children wear long stockings.

Here we see an unidentified Danish family. All we know about this family is that they were from Ranum. We are not sure just where that is in Denmark. The portrait is undated, but we would guess it was taken about 1900. The boys wear blouses with pointed collars and matching above the knee knickers. I am not sure what color their outfits are. Their neckwear is particulasrly destinctibe. Their hair is close cropped. We notice a lot of boys in the early 20th century with close cropped hair. Their sister wears a plaid dress. All the children wear long stockings. The boys wear black stockings. The girl has daek stockings, but I am not sure about the coilor.
