Boarding Schools: Individual Children--Hard Work

Figure 1.-- This boy is hard at work on a math problem.

Of course academics is one area in which boarding school children benefit. Not only is there more classroom time, but the time tends to be more valuable as teachers do not have the distractions of disruptive children. And the smaller classes provide much more individual attention for the children. This means that children having troublr get more assistance and clever children get more stimulation. The overwealming impression one gets in visiting boarding school classrooms is children hard at work and learning taking place. Many of the children come expect that and are very serious about their work and are very interested in placing high in the class rankings.
