We are not positive just what the policy toward illustrating the Jennings books were. The Just William books had extensive inside illustrations. Most of the Jennings illustrations with which we are familar, however, are cover illustrations. We do not have any first editions so we are not sure if there were originally inside illustrations. One of the first Jennings books was Jennings' Little Hut (1951). We are not sure how it was illustrated. We do have the 1967 reprint and there are no inside illustrations, only an illustrated cover jacket. I'm not sure who the illustrator was.
