Knitted Shorts: Individual Boy

Figure 1.--This European boy looks to be wearing a "T" shirt with knitted shorts. I'm not sure what country this, but may be France. Hopefully our European readers can recognize the country. I m not sure anout the date, perhaps the late 1940s. A French reader believes that the late-1950s is more likely.

This European boy looks to be wearing a "T" shirt with knitted shorts. I'm not sure what country this, but may be France. Our information is still limited, but knitted shorts for boys seemsto hsve been especially popular in France. Hopefully our European readers can recognize the country. I m not sure anout the date, perhaps the late 1940s or early 1950s. A French reader believes that the late-1950s is more likely. Note the banded sleves on his "T" shirt. The beach itself looks like a beach resort in northern France or Belgium. The tall houses in the background are typical and not at all English. Perhaps a French or Belgian reader will recognize the spot. After mulling over the boys clothes, I suddenly realized this ppears to be the same boy on another HBC page wearing boxer shorts. He looks to be abour 7 or 8 years old here, 1-2 years younger here than in the linked image. A French reader is no convinced that he is French. He writes, "I am sure that the boy hereis not French. This sort of "T" shirt was unknown in France during the 1950s."
