The King Family Show: Cameron and Laurette

Figure 1.--Cameron Clarke, and his cousin, Laurette Conkling, are seen here for one of their production numbers. Cam wears a black or navy short pants suit with a matching tie and white kneesocks and shoes. Laurette wears a dress with ahuge back bow, short white socks and white strap shoes.

Cameron (Cam) Clarke, and his cousin, Laurette Conkling, were often paired off for production numbers. Their performances were often quite charming. They were often costumed formally for these duets. Cam was the oldest of the young group of King Kids. He wore short pants just like the younger ones till he was 9-10 years old. Towards the ened of the series, he finally graduate to longs trousers. The image here looks to be a 4th of July special. Cam wears a black or navy short pants suit with a matching tie and white kneesocks and shoes. Some American boys, especially boys from affluent families, in the 1960s still wore short pants suits, but it was less common in the 1970s. Usually they wore dark kneesocks and shoes. Laurette wears a dress with a huge back bow, short white socks and white strap shoes.
