Another reader suggests talented American singer Billy Gillman should be added to the list of boys involved in popular music and entertainment. Billy has a strong, pure soprano voice that doesn't need to be mixed like the typical boy pop singer (or Boy Band). He sings mainly country songs and began touring at age 11. Billy like most of the entertainers wears the typical clothes favored by American boys. In the image here he wears an only sligtly large "T"-shirt cuffed at the sleeves, baggy blue shorts with cargo pockets, white ankle socks, and trendy sneakers.
Billy hails from Rhode Island. He was born in 1988.
He started singing at age 3 1/2 and first peformed at age 6, singing for his classmates during "Show and Tell". He started working with a voice coach at 8 and was touring at 11.

His first album, "One Voice" sold over 1 million copies to make Billy the youngest artist tp have a Gold album and the youngest solo performer to have an album go Platinum. He has won several Billboard 2000 music video awards. His video of the song "Oklahoma" is particularly good and very
touching. He a an excellent example of the power and worderful sound of a boy's treble voice. He has released two more albums that have sold very well. Billy has also
won the American Music Award for Favorite New Artist. By all accounts, he
is a charming, poised young man with great stage presence. He looks to have
a bright future in the music business.
