This photograph shows a wedding in Indiana during 1904. It was not a large wedding. The portrait appears to have been taken in front of a house, presumably the bride's home. It would look to be a famiy of modest means. Note that the men wear coats and the boys just shirts. Presumably it was a warm day and the boys were not required to wear their coats. Almost certainly the boys had coats. The boys all wear neckwear that looks rather like bowties, but they do not seem to be actual bowties. The collars are rather difficult to make out, but they look quite different. One boy appears to have a ruffled copy. Another has a small roundd collar. Some of these may have been detachable collars. The younger boy wears a sailor tunic. These tunics were very popular for pre-school children at the time. The boy in the yunic looks to have been about 4 years old.
