Figure 1.-- We noticed a portrait of Dorthy. We do not yet know who she was, but it is awinderful portait depicting how girls from affluent families dressed at the turn of the 20th century. All we know anout the portrait was that it was done in 1902. Perhaps some of our readers will know just who Dorthy was.

We noticed a portrait of Dorthy. We do not yet know who she was, but it is awinderful portait depicting how girls from affluent families dressed at the turn of the 20th century. All we know anout the portrait was that it was done in 1902. Perhaps some of our readers will know just who Dorthy was. There are several interesting features of Dorthy's outfit. Hairbows were very popular at the time. I have always wondered about how and if they wore hats with these large hair bows. Also notice the color, something which doesn't come out in the black and white photography of the day. Also nootice the white dress. White outfits for summe wear were popular for both boys and girls. Note that she wears black long stockings. Black stockings were very common at the time, even with white outfits.
