We know very little about this image. The cabinet card shows a a boy in a velvet knee pants suit that has piping and with long ringlet curls. His suit is difficult to assess because it is so dark. He wears a cutaway jacket with matching vest and keepants. His floppy bow looks to be in a plaid pattern. He also wears long black stockings. He was photographed by A. W. Judd, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Judd had his cabinent cards done with a thin gold border. The boy's name was Willie Morrison, identified in pencil on the reverse. The proper name would hve been William Morrison. Willie looks to be about 5 years old. The portrait is not dated. It looks to us as if it was taken in the early 1880s, in part becus we do not see any Fauntleroy elements. It is an interesting image in that it is a side shot and show how ringlet curls were handled at the back. This was an unsuual way og styling them. We note a right part. There could be a matching left part. There are no front bangs.
