German mail order catalogs offer a very useful time line on changing fashion trends. German mail order catalogs in 1979. The Quelle catalog offered a sporty jacket. Quelle in 1979 offered a variety of lederhosen for casual wear. The real lederhosen were available in several different styles made from leather. There were even denim shorts made to look like lederhosen. There were worn with brightly colored check and plaid shirts. The shorts were shown with one girl model. Lederhosen were a boy's garment, but here were shown for girls as well.

Coats

German boys wore a variety of different coats for the winter. Casual styles were increasing popular.

Jackets

We note casual, sporty jackets much like boys in America might wear.

Suits

Boys wore rather English looking blazers complete with fake badges. There were also tweed coats without lapels that might be worn with lederhosen.

Casual Clothes

German catalogs in the 1970s show many casual clothes.

Pants

Boys in the 1960s wore both short and long pants. Both were made in play and ffprmal styles. In some cases the same style and colors were offered in both long and short pants versions.

Lederhosen
