Figure 1.-- Canadian educator Michel Coron is also an accomplished photographer. During the 1970s he took photographs at a French Canadian school as part of a reserach program. The photos are a wonderful record of school activities and teaching methods at a school using progressive methods, a lot of projects and group work rather than teacher centered learming.

Canadian educator Michel Coron is also an accomplished photographer. During the 1970s he took photographs at a French-Canadian school at Beloeil, Québec as part of a reserach program. Other photographs were taken as part of his supervision of student teachers. The photos are a wonderful record of school activities and teaching methods at a school using progressive methods, a lot of projects and group work rather than teacher centered learning. Many of the images are of 4th and 5th grade children in a primary school with mostly middle-class children. The photographs are not posed, but fascinating candid images of education in progress. These delightful images are such a fascinating record compared to the typical staid class portraits.
