We note holdings of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) which include sailor outfits for boys and girls. Unlike earlier years, the boys and girls top (blouse) are different. The girl's outfit is a navy blue long-sleeve blouse with two stripe style collar, collar and cuffs have two off-white stripes along the edge. It is not a traditional deep V-cut collar, but a smaller higher set collar with a button at the center front. Label: 'Liliputian Bazaar/Trademark/Best & Co'. The dimensions are: Center back: 31.1 cm (12 1/4 in.) Center front: 27.9 cm (11 in.) Costume (Bust X Waist): 24 × 26 in. (61 × 66 cm) It is done with a tan bodice and a navy blue pleated skirt (MFA calls it an 'underdress'). Thee are three snaps on left side. Labels: (left) "Florence Eiseman/Custom Made" (center) 'T3'. T3 means toddler age 3 years. It was also sold by Best and Company and manufactured by Florence Eiseman, which tended to sell to boutique outlets. The outfit was done in cotton twill trimmed with rayon braid.
