Greek School Uniforms: Individual Comments

Figure 1.--.

HBC has obtained some comments from Greeks about the school unforms that they wore. We incourage Greek readers to contribute their own personal comments abut their school uniform.

Brief Comments

"With a pair of jeans from morning till night. And my Adidas back bag that I always wanted and bought from a trip in Istanbul when I was 16." -- Chrysa (girl, 1977)

"A smock that I bought from "Cinderella" and notebooks from "Pallis". I remember that when I was in the middle of Gymnasio (highschool) and the smock was abolished the whole school was turned into a huge fashionwalk." -- Mary (girl, 1970)

"Not only a strict outfit, with grey or blue trousers and white shirt, but also with nails and hair cut before school started." -- Kostas (boy, 1959)

"The smock was always clean and ironed, the collar white and a ribbon on the hair. The only mark of spruce could be a nice dress or skirt that could be briefly seen under the smock" -- Kaiti (1950, girl)
