Scottish School Uniform: St. Peter's School

Figure 1.--Here we see a class portrait taken at the St. Peter's School about 1960. We do notice that severl boys and girls are wearing blazers. It rather looks like there was an optional uniform or the school was just beginning to introduce one. At the same time several children are wearing very casual clothes.

We know very little about St. Peter's Primary School. We assume that it is a Catholic school. We are not sure where the school was located, but would guess that it was probably Glasgow. I'm not sure what the age range was at the school. One class photo taken about 1960 looks to be children about 10-years of age. There was no required uniform. The girls all wear rather similar-;ooking dreses. dresses. The boys are dressed in a greater variety of clothes. We do notice that severl boys and girls are wearing blazers. It rather looks like there was an optional uniform or the school was just beginning to introduce one. At the same time several children are wearing very casual clothes. Quite a few of the children wear closed-toe sandals, both the "T"-strap and double-strap style.
