This Italian company offer a range of different smock style in a variety of sizes. All he smocks were blue, pink, or white.

Translatioms

HBC does not have Itlalin language capability. Thus we have had to rely on computer translation engines. The results are thus very rough. We would be very interested in any suggestions readers may have about these translations. In particular here, we have no idea what "da asilo" means.

Individual Smock

We notice 20 different styles of smocks. There were more styles of smocks for the girls than the boys. All are front butting smocks, both those for the girls and boys. The company has named these smocks after the littl embroidered figures on them.

Orsetto silo--MEVI

The ad copy for this smock reads, "Grembiule bimba da asilo realizzato in puro Cotone, resistenti ai lavaggi e antimacchia. Modello dal taglio dritto, con colletto bianco, chiusura a bottoni, elastico ai polsini e taschine. Colorazione rosso fantasia quadrettini. Toppa orsetto." This translates as, "Girl's smock from [?asylum] made in pure cotton, resistant to washings and soiling. Model from the cut straight, with white collar [?worker], button closings, elastic to [?polsini] and the [?taschine]. Pink color fantasy check. [?Toppa orsetto]." Coniglio Asilo--MEVI

This girl's pink ginham smock was made with a white Peter Pan collar with contrasting lace-like trim and limited smocking.

Farfalla Asilo--MEVI

The ad copy for this smock reads, "Grembiule bimba da asilo realizzato in puro Cotone, resistenti ai lavaggi e antimacchia. Modello con pinces al petto e ricami, con colletto bianco ricamato, chiusura a bottoni, elastico ai polsini e taschine. Colorazione azzurro fantasia quadrettini. Toppa farfalla." This translates as, "Girl's smock from [?asylum] made in pure cotton, resistant to washings and soiling. Model with [?pinces] to the chest and embroidery, with embroidered white collar work, button closing, elastic to [?polsini] and the [?taschine]. Blue coloration fantasy check. [?Toppa] butterfly." This is similar to the above smock with Peter Pan collar and decorative trim, although made in blue and with a butter fly character. Note tht it is acceptable for a girl to wear a blue smock, but none of the pink smocks are designated for boys.

Fiorellino Asilo--MEVI

The ad copy for this smock reads, "Grembiule bimba da asilo realizzato in puro Cotone, resistenti ai lavaggi e antimacchia. [?Toppa fiorellino.]" The design here issimilar to the above smocks, but it is a solid color rather than a chck ginham.

This is another girls' smock with styling similar to the ones above, but in white.

Thus white is for both genders and it is the style of the smock that determines gender appropriateness.
